INAUGURATION OF BIODIVERSITY REGISTER AT DIET CHARAIDEO

On 5th September 2025, the Principal of DIET Charaideo, Mr. Biman Chandra Dutta, inaugurated the “Biodiversity Register of DIET Charaideo Vicinity”, prepared by the teacher trainees of the Science Method paper under the guidance of Lecturer Dreamly Dutta. Biodiversity refers to the variety of life forms on Earth, including plants, animals, and micro-organisms in all their habitats, while a Biodiversity Register is a systematic record of such species within a specific area.

Compiled by a few enthusiastic trainees, most of whom have limited knowledge of taxonomy, the register was completed within a short time despite their demanding D.El.Ed schedule. The objective of the register is to document, preserve, and create awareness about the local flora and fauna, promoting conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. It marks an initial step in documenting the local biodiversity and will be updated and refined in the coming years for greater accuracy and comprehensiveness.
