ESTABLISHMENT OF ECO CLUB – DIET SIVASAGAR, SONARI
The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Sivasagar established the "ECO CLUB, SIVASAGAR, SONARI" under the guidance of Principal Mr. Biman Chandra Dutta, with Mrs. Dreamly Dutta serving as the coordinator, consultant, and speaker.
The club was formed with the following objectives:
- To promote environmental education and sustainable development practices in alignment with the National Education Policy, 2020.
- To engage trainees in activities focused on environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and efficient waste management.
- To organize workshops and special awareness campaigns centered on eco-friendly habits and sustainable living.
- To motivate trainees to minimize plastic usage, encourage reuse and recycling, and foster a culture of sustainability within the institute.
As its first initiative, the club launched a cleanliness drive within the institute’s premises on 24th September 2024, with active participation from the Principal, faculty, staff, and trainees.
