Celebration of Rabha Divas at DIET Charaideo, Sonari

DIET Charaideo, Sonari, celebrated Rabha Divas on the death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha to honour and remember his invaluable contributions to the cultural, social, and artistic heritage of Assam. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Mr. Biman Chandra Dutta. In his address, he highlighted the life, ideals, cultural contributions, patriotism, and social vision of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. He also encouraged the trainees to draw inspiration from Rabha’s remarkable legacy and uphold the values represented through his life and works. The trainees paid heartfelt tribute to Kalaguru through a series of cultural performances, including chorus presentations, songs, and dances, reflecting the richness of his artistic and cultural influence. A special highlight of the programme was the musical presentation “Surare Deulore”, conceptualized by Senior Lecturer Deepa Rani Gogoi and scripted by former trainee Samiran Bhagawati. The presentation beautifully portrayed Rabha’s ideals, artistic legacy, patriotism, and social vision through his timeless songs, making the programme both meaningful and memorable. The programme was coordinated by Senior Lecturer Deepa Rani Gogoi. The celebration served as an important occasion to introduce the trainees to the enduring legacy of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha and to inspire greater appreciation for Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
