Assorted Oral Folklores of Our Tea-Community Friends

On 23rd September 2024, a book titled “Assorted Oral Folklores of Our Tea-Community Friends”, featuring a collection of fascinating oral folklores from selected tea gardens of Assam, was formally inaugurated by Mr. Biman Ch. Dutta, Principal of DIET Sivasagar, Sonari, and Prof. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, retired Professor of Mathematics, Dibrugarh University.

The folklores were collected, translated, and presented by teacher-trainees Ms. Rinki Tanti and Mr. Partha Pratim Das, under the expert guidance of Mrs. Parinita Hazarika, Lecturer at DIET Sivasagar, Sonari.

This publication is a sincere effort to showcase the diverse and vibrant oral traditions of the tea-community—stories and narratives handed down across generations. The book has been well received and is now considered an important addition to the DIET library's resource collection.
