A Proud Moment for DIET Charaideo
A two-day consultative meet, “Consultative Meet with the DIETs of Assam on Quality Education in Schools,” was organised by SCERT Assam on 9–10 September 2026 at Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati.
The programme brought together DIETs from across the state to share and deliberate on best practices in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), PARAKH, and the implementation of new textbooks in alignment with NEP 2020.
The programme was graced on both days by the Hon’ble Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, and the Hon’ble Director of SCERT Assam, Dr. Nirada Devi.
Representing DIET Charaideo, Principal Mr. Biman Chandra Dutta, Senior Lecturers Ms. Mina Saikia and Ms. Aparajita Kaushik, and Lecturer Ms. Dreamly Dutta participated in the meet and presented the institute’s initiatives and best practices.
The presentations received appreciation from the participants and special recognition from the Hon’ble Education Minister.
In a significant acknowledgment of DIET Charaideo’s efforts, the Hon’ble Minister announced the reprinting and distribution of three learning resources developed by the institute across schools in other districts of Assam:
📘 Pipli — Bridge Language Material developed for tea garden area schools
📕 ছবিৰে সৈতে সাধু পঢ়োঁ আহা — A comic-based learning resource
📗 Yogadarshan — A resource book on Yoga
This recognition adds to DIET Charaideo’s earlier appreciation for its District/Block/Cluster-level support in FLN at the previous Consultative Meet.
The achievement is a matter of immense pride for DIET Charaideo and an encouragement to continue developing innovative, contextual and meaningful learning resources for the children of Assam.
A proud achievement, and a greater responsibility to keep striving for quality education.
