TEACHING LEARNING MATERIAL (TLM) MELA CUM COMPETITION AT DIET CHARAIDEO
A Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Mela cum Competition was successfully organized on 03rd January 2026 at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Charaideo, Sonari. The event aimed to highlight the pedagogical importance of innovative and learner-friendly teaching-learning materials in strengthening classroom transactions.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Honourable Principal, DIET Charaideo, Shri Biman Chandra Dutta, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized the crucial role of well-designed TLMs in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding, creativity, and engagement. He encouraged trainee teachers to integrate locally available, cost-effective, and need-based materials in their teaching practices.
The competition was judiciously evaluated by senior faculty members Mrs. Meena Saikia, Mrs. Runima Saikia Dutta, Mrs. Deepa Rani Gogoi, and Ms. Aparajita Kaushik, who assessed the exhibits on parameters such as innovation, relevance to curriculum, learner-centeredness, and classroom applicability.
The TLM Mela was held within the institute premises and showcased a wide range of attractive and innovative teaching-learning materials prepared by 1st and 3rd Semester trainees as part of their School Internship Programme (SIP). The exhibits reflected the trainees’ creativity, pedagogical understanding, and commitment to experiential and activity-based learning.
The entire programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Madhumita Chetia, Senior Lecturer. The event provided a meaningful platform for trainee teachers to demonstrate their skills, share best practices, and reinforce the significance of TLMs in achieving effective and inclusive learning outcomes.
