NATIONAL SPACE DAY CELEBRATION – 2024

The National Space Day was celebrated on 22nd and 23rd August 2024 at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Sivasagar, Sonari.

The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the institute, Shri Biman Chandra Dutta, who delivered a welcome speech and briefly highlighted the significance of this glorious day for India. He also analyzed India’s strengths and achievements in the field of science and technology.

The program was coordinated by Senior Lecturer Mina Saikia and Lecturer Bhaskar Jyoti Das.

As a special guest, Sushant Tati delivered a keynote address on space missions and, in his role as a resource person, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)—from the early preparations for India’s space research in 1962 to the present-day accomplishments.

In conjunction with the National Space Day, a speech competition and a quiz competition were organized among the trainees. The winners were awarded certificates.

The trainees also demonstrated innovative projects related to "Chandrayaan 3" and the Solar Eclipse, showcasing their understanding and creativity.

The event was attended by all the academic officers and staff members of the institute, marking a successful and inspiring celebration of India’s progress in space exploration.
