District Level Yoga Olympiad 2025 – Sivasagar District
DIET, Charaideo Sonari successfully hosted the District Level Yoga Olympiad 2025 at Desang Sukan Pukhuri High School on May 6 and 7, 2025. A workshop in yoga was conducted on the first day, where experienced resource persons guided students in kriya, bandha, pranayama, and yogasanas. The training session attracted around 20 students from four education blocks in the Sivasagar district.
The primary objectives of the Yoga Olympiad are to promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of students. It aims to encourage the daily practice of yoga, integrate yoga into school curricula, recognize emerging talent, and prepare students for higher levels of participation.
On the second day, a yoga competition was organized. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Deva Jyoti Gogoi, Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar district. In his address, he highlighted the importance of sports in fostering a healthy society. Mr. Dipak Gogoi and Mr. Bhaskar Gogoi, both national-level yoga players and referees, trained and guided the participants, and selected students for the State Level Yoga Olympiad 2025.
DIET, Charaideo Sonari conducted a rigorous selection process at the cluster and block levels to identify promising talent. The participants selected at the block level competed in the district-level competition. Five students have been selected to represent Sivasagar district at the State Level Yoga Competition 2025 to be organized by SCERT, Assam at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on May 20 and 21, 2025.
